From Drab to Fab- Updated Kitchen cabinets, walls, & countertops

Dated and Drab describe this kitchen.  Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures before the tile countertops and old tile backsplash were torn out...but you get the picture. White cabinets, Wallpaper that was just painted over, and dated tile countertops made this kitchen pretty plain and borring.
With refinished cabinets that are creme with a coco glaze, and a black distressed island that is dressed up with corbels & decorative panels, it is hard to recognize that it is the same kitchen. The walls were finished with an aged plaster finish that is a beautiful compliment to the cabinet finishes & new gorgeous granite countertops. The creme limestone backsplash just has not been installed yet, but you can tell that the other changes make this kitchen a great entertaining space.

Side of island, showing plain side with no details or interest.
Now the island looks like a piece of furniture with the details added and different finish.

This small additional cabinet looked a little out of place alone on the wall.

Adding Glass front doors & displaying a collection of fun bright fiestaware makes this small cabinet a showpiece.  This picture also shows the wall finish with the texture and variation in color, it is a beautiful compliment to the floors, counters, and other materials used.

Reflections of the Past~ Custom Antiqued Mirrors

These are various mirrors I have antiqued to go in different houses for different applications.  It is such a soft, beautiful look.  The mirror is custom sized for the application and then antiqued before installing.

Lavish Living~ Cabin Style

I was honored to do several finishes in this Cabin.  The Powder bath gets a soft look with the wall finish without being too dressy and stuffy.  This is in one of the cabins at Champions Retreat, a beautiful and unique cabin, it is truly a golf retreat for men.  An already amazing space is only enhanced with a beautiful finish that gives an aged look.

The Den in this cabin is paneled in Pecky Cypress, a beautiful cypress wood.  The finish gives the wood an aged "barnwood" or "driftwood" look.  A three step wash process results in a striking aged look.  The walls, ceiling and built-in bookcases were all out of the same wood.

The Kitchen island constructed of the same wood as the paneling in the den had the same finish applied.  A handsome addition to the kitchen.

Faux Cosmetic Surgery~ Facelift for a Kitchen

This kitchen looks fresher and "younger" than it has in years.  A tired kitchen with wallpaper, white tile countertops and white cabinets begs for a new look.  After painting the walls, adding a new stone tile backsplash, unique granite countertops, new appliances, refinishing the cabinets, and adding new cabinet hardware... These are the results!

All Girls LOVE Chocolate Icing with Sprinkles on Top!

This bathroom is as yummy as a cupcake.  It corresponds with the bedroom where I painted flowers on the accent wall. The little girl was thrilled with her new fun bathroom. The Polka Dots are in the bright colors that are in the bedroom... So pretty against the Chocolate Brown!
It turned out so cute!!

A Teen's Dream Come True- Vivid Stripes

These type finishes are always fun to do.  The intense color contrasting against the black on these walls is an exciting compliment to the bright furniture.  Inspiration came from the furniture and small fabric swatches before the bedding was even sewn.  This is the result... Any teen or tween would love this unique, bold room!

Additional Fireplace

I had the pleasure of doing the finish on this new mantle.  The sweet couple that I have known for years asked me to do the finish and it turned out beautiful.  They did a pretty massive remodel and addition, this fireplace and mantle were added to the dining room. It is amazing how the detail shows up so much more and has much more depth when it is painted and glazed.

A Fresh New look for a Powder Bath

I have been working recently with a wonderful couple on their house.  I re-finished their kitchen cabinets, and then was asked to help with the half bath.  It was a fresh change from what it was.  The homeowners still wanted wallpaper in the bath... Take a peek.
