This was such a fun room to do for a friend.  The two girls will have hours of fun in this new playroom.  The inspiration was taken from the pottery barn rug in the room that is pink and green.  Needless to say the girls love the room!!

This is a beautiful house I had the pleasure of working in.  I took inspiration from the wallpaper and fixtures in the room to come up with a gold and silver finish over the teal.  Turned out gorgeous!

Why a Faux Finish?

A faux finish gives a different look than plain painted walls, or solid cabinets and furniture.  The finish is custom tailored to compliment the space.  A wall or ceiling finish can create the look of a high-end wall covering without having limited finishes or only a few colors to choose from.  Endless color combinations and textures assure your space has it's own unique Signature.  The look of age and beauty are fused together and transform your space from something ordinary into a work of art.  The possibilities are truely endless!

What is a Faux Finish anyway...?

"Faux" is a French word meaning false.  The "faux finish" can create the look of something aged and worn over time, or mimic the color or look of another surface.
For example:  A textured and glazed wall creates the look of aged plaster.  A new piece of furniture or cabinetry that is distressed and has a painted finish on it, may look like it has been used and abused for decades.  An unfinished wood can be distressed and have a wash applied to create the look of old reclaimed wood.  A faux finish can transform an ordinary painted mantle into an aged limestone mantle salvaged from a historic building, or brought over from an old mansion in Europe.
